Fireproof Homes (fireproofhomes.com) is owned and operated by Lucky 27 Media, Inc. ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect through fireproofhomes.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little as we need.

The short version

  • You can read every guide and use the action plan without giving us any personal information.
  • If you give us your email, we use it to send what you asked for and occasional wildfire safety tips. You can unsubscribe anytime.
  • We share your contact details with contractors only if you check the box that says you want us to. They may pay us for that introduction.
  • We don't use advertising trackers or analytics cookies.
  • You can ask us to show you, correct or delete your information by emailing hello@fireproofhomes.com.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Action plan: your answers to the questionnaire. If you choose to, your email address and ZIP code, and whether you checked the box to share your details with contractors.
  • Guide download: your email address, and whether you checked the contractor box.
  • Emails to us: anything you include when you write to hello@fireproofhomes.com.

Your action plan answers are processed in your browser to show your results. They are only sent to us if you submit your email address.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, the services that run our site receive basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. Our hosting provider uses this to deliver the site, keep it secure and block abuse. When you submit a form, our form service records the IP address the submission came from. We don't use it to identify you.

We don't set advertising or analytics cookies. Our hosting provider may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site from bots.

How we use your information

  • To show your action plan and email you a copy when you ask for one
  • To give you our downloadable guide
  • To send occasional wildfire safety tips and updates about our guides
  • To reply to your messages
  • To share your contact details and answers with contractors, only if you opted in (see below)
  • To keep the site secure, prevent spam and comply with the law

Sharing with contractors

Our forms include an optional, unchecked box: "Yes, share my contact details and answers with vetted local contractors so they can contact me about quotes." If you check it, we may share your email address, ZIP code and action plan answers with one or more contractors who do wildfire mitigation work in your area, so they can contact you. Contractors may pay us for these introductions. Under California law, sharing information in exchange for payment can count as a "sale" of personal information.

If you don't check the box, we won't share your information with contractors. If you checked it and change your mind, email hello@fireproofhomes.com and we'll stop sharing your information going forward. Contractors we share with are responsible for how they handle your information.

Service providers

We use a small number of companies to run the site. They process information on our behalf to provide their service:

  • Cloudflare hosts the website and forwards email sent to hello@fireproofhomes.com.
  • Web3Forms delivers form submissions to our inbox.
  • Resend sends the action plan emails.
  • Google Fonts serves the typefaces on our pages. Your browser requests them from Google, which receives your IP address.
  • YouTube plays the videos on our pages. Videos load only when you click play, using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the website.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address and related information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until we no longer need it. Form submissions stored by our form service are kept according to its retention settings.

Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe: reply to any email from us and ask to be removed, or email hello@fireproofhomes.com.
  • Access, correction and deletion: ask us what information we have about you, and ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Opt out of sharing: tell us to stop sharing your information with contractors at any time.

California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete or correct it, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. Whether or not the law applies to us, we will honor these requests. Email hello@fireproofhomes.com with your request. We may need to confirm your email address before acting on it, and we will respond within 45 days.

Children

This site is meant for adult homeowners. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

We use reputable service providers and limit who can access the information we collect. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we'll make that clear on the site.
